Sustainability

Leading-edge silicon, without the footprint

The most advanced factories on earth should also be the cleanest. Our net-zero roadmap is engineered with the same discipline as our process nodes.

Focus areas

Energy, water, materials

Three systems dominate a fab's environmental footprint. Each has an owner, a budget, and a target audited like a yield number.

Energy

Energy

A 400MW captive solar park powers GigaFab Chicago's daytime load, backed by 24/7 renewable PPAs in Dresden and Arizona. Every new fab is designed to LEED Gold or better.

Water

Water

Closed-loop ultrapure water plants reclaim 92% of process water. Chicago II will be our first net-water-positive fab, returning more to the aquifer than it draws.

Materials

Materials

Chemical suppliers are audited against our zero-discharge standard, and 78% of process chemistries now have take-back or regeneration programs.

Net-zero roadmap

Dated commitments, not directions of travel

  1. 2028

100% renewable electricity at GigaFab Chicago; PFAS abatement on every etch chamber network-wide.

  2. 2030

Chicago II operates net-water-positive; absolute Scope 1 & 2 emissions down 55% from the 2024 baseline.

  3. 2032

100% renewable electricity across all five sites, met with 24/7 carbon-free matching.

  4. 2040

Net-zero Scope 1 & 2 operations, with residual abatement independently verified.
